As many of you know, the CADD Foundation is joining in the fight against hunger this year. To raise money to support this initiative, we recently teamed up with The Underground Kitchen (UGK) in Richmond, Va for a 2-hour virtual cooking class. CADD employees, family and friends spent an evening cooking along (via Zoom) with one of UGK's renowned chefs, Eric Smith.
When it was time to put our cooking skills to the test, we dug out our best aprons and chef hats and jumped into the kitchen to get to work. We began the evening by preparing an apricot stuffed mushroom appetizer, followed by the entree, apple cider glazed chicken with roasted butternut squash and spinach. To finish the meal, Chef Eric walked us through how to make cranberry and chocolate chip bread pudding.
We're excited to announce that the CADD Foundation raised $2000 in ticket sales from this event and donated these proceeds to Community First, Underground Kitchen’s official 501c3 foundation. Not only did we raise money for a good cause, but we also had a blast cooking together and enjoyed a delicious dinner. Below are a few pictures of our fun evening:
We look forward to teaming up with UGK again for future cooking classes and hope you will join us next time. Follow us here and on Facebook and LinkedIn for more information about future events and how to get involved. You can also view our volunteer opportunities on our CADD Foundation page.
