In the last few months as we have settled into Autodesk's new buying experience, we've learned some important points to ensure a smooth experience with new and renewal purchases. Here's a compilation of some of our top tips to make your first purchase in the new buying experience is a breeze.
- All Autodesk software purchases must now go through the process of purchasing through the quote email sent from Autodesk or from the quote in the Autodesk Account. While you may have done purchasing differently in the past, all Autdoesk purchases must go through this process now.
- Add each person who will be viewing quotes, submitting purchases, or paying for invoices into your Autodesk team. To access quotes that have been forwarded from the quote contact (checkout our blog on how to do this), finalize and purchase quotes, or pay and view invoices users must login with an Autodesk Account. Adding them into your Autodesk team as an admin ensures they set up their accounts, and your subscriptions and invoices remain on your primary team.
- When choosing to by Pay by Invoice when purchasing, payers can login to the Autodesk Account to view and pay invoices under Billing & Orders > Invoices and Credit Memos. The original purchaser is defaulted as a payer, and each company can register up to five payers who have access to invoices in the Autodesk Account. You can manage payers under Billing & Orders > Invoices and Credit Memos.
- Payers and purchasers must have the same email domain on their Autodesk Account as the email listed on the quote. If you they have different domains you will be unable to access the quote.
- If you need to add any specific information to your invoices for any company requirements, you can add that information before submitting your purchase on the payment page after selecting Pay by Invoice.
- If you elect to Pay by Invoice your terms of payment will be listed on your invoice received via email, and the invoice payment deadline is listed on the invoice in the Autodesk Account. It is extremely important to make sure your payment is received by the deadline, or else your licenses will be suspended and users will lose access. The good news is that if this does happen, as soon as you settle payment, your users will resume access almost immediately.
