On the ninth day of CADD Care, my CADD Team gave to me…a Virtual Online Community!
We have really missed being able to meet in-person with our customers this year to exchange best practices, share industry advances, and simply get out of the office and enjoy good conversation. While we normally get to see everyone’s smiling face, we had to find a new way to connect our community virtually and extend the value of our in-person events like User Groups and Lunch ‘n’ Learns to an online forum. This is how our BIMxt Network and Ask Us Anything Panel Discussion were born and why they are now one of our favorite things!
The BIMxt Network We launched the BIMxt Network in May 2020 as an extension of our Revit User Groups. This online forum connects BIM professionals from across the country and provides a place to discuss issues of the day between practicing experts in the AEC industry. Each month we bring together leading BIM experts to provide a platform for discussion of challenges and accomplishments when using models for design, construction and building operations. Our moderator, Dana De Filippi – Associate, BIM Technologist at SmithGroup – leads the discussions and takes questions from the attendees to fuel the conversation. It is a fun way to be involved in the ever-evolving conversation of BIM and learn from others who are working with similar processes you are.
Check out the BIMxt Network on LinkedIn to learn more about upcoming meetings and become a member.
Ask Us Anything Panel Discussion If you are like my 5 year old, you may want to know “WHY” or “HOW” your software or workflows could be utilized, or you just have a bump on your knee and need a solution to a glitch you are experiencing. At CADD, we get lots of questions from our clients through our CADD Care helpdesk, during training or while assisting on a project. For this reason, we started our Ask Us Anything Panel Discussion. Every few months, customers can virtually ask any software question they want to our technical experts and support team. It can be about software hardware recommendations, layers, families or building information modeling. The sky is the limit.
Find out about our next Ask Us Anything Panel Discussion on our Events page.
In the end, we hope that these events are somewhat of a therapy session for the modeling professionals and a way for us to come together – virtually – and enhance the AEC industry. I hope to see you at our next round of the BIMxt Network and our Ask Us Anything Panel Discussion.
